PHP Software Developers
US Internet is looking for up to two entry to mid-level developers to be part of an internal team developing a customized CRM deployment written in PHP. The project involves extending an existing CRM application to include billing and accounting functionality, and to migrate existing legacy applictions. Candidates must be proficient in PHP, SQL, and have experience working within an MVC framework developing web applications. Being able to work successfully both in small teams as well as independently is crucial.
This is a full-time position and is not a contract position. No recruiters, telecommuters, or contractors. We are looking for only qualified candidates seeking long-term employment working at our Minnetonka, MN location.
Duties
- Write clean, solid, object-oriented PHP extending existing code to add new functionality.
- Create and modify MySQL databases schemas, and create complex queries and stored procedures.
- Customize an existing web interface design to add custom behavior while maintaining backwards and browser compatibility.
- Comfortable working within a structured team for larger projects but also able to tackle projects independently.
- Develop web applications by studying existing technology architecture; analyzing browser compatibility techniques; evaluating solution alternatives; programming objects, events, functions, error trapping, data verification; designing and configuring databases; completing documentation.
- Solve design and logic challenges, learn legacy systems and architecture, and migrate existing code and related data to PHP.
- Participate in design and planning of current and future projects, and take the lead on smaller projects from start to completion.
- Work independently on projects while being able to solve most design challenges without guidance.
- Updates job knowledge by researching new web technologies; suggest new ideas and techniques to the team.
Experience with the following technologies is critical:
- PHP 5.x
- MySQL
- Javascript and AJAX
- HTML and CSS
Experience with the following is also desireable:
- YUI, ExtJS (or similar)
- MVC Frameworks (Zend, Cake, or similar)
- .NET

Tech Support Representatives
Tech Support Representatives are responsible for handling incoming support issues from clients via phone, email and online chat. Their job responsibilities also include troubleshooting, analyzing, resolving, tracking and escalating technical issues.
Tech support agents must demonstrate exceptional telephone etiquette and listen effectively in order to understand and process client requests in a timely manner. They must also be able to ask appropriate questions and understand client questions, demonstrating conflict resolution skills. 75% Phone support, 20% email support, 5% other.
In addition, a Level 3 Technician will effectively and competently support Level 0/1 support team members.
Level 0 tech support team members are responsible for dial-up, email and our current company and technical department policies and procedures.
Level 1 tech support team members are responsible for desktop support, monitoring network outages and creating and canceling accounts.
Level 2 tech support team members are responsible for Web services, FTP, DNS, ISDN, DSL and remote backup. Level 1 support techs also work on escalated Level 0 tickets.
Level 3 tech support items include DS1, DS3, wireless, and anti-spam & anti-virus, work on escalated Level 0/1 tickets and occasionally field Level 0/1 issues as appropriate.

What's more, training is provided on all services supported by US Internet, which can include customer service training.
